Senior Accountant

Job Description
The Senior Accountant will have the ability to understand and perform all accounting functions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance and consistency in policies and procedures. It is a hands-on position including month end close, preparing and reporting consolidated financial statements, and completing other accounting and general business projects including special projects for clients. The Senior Accountant position reports to the CFO.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with general ledger account reconciliation
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and various management reports in compliance with applicable government regulations
- Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports
- Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating of year-end close process
- Assist with audits, budgeting, and cost reporting
- Comply with internal Policies and Procedures
- Assist with 401(k) plan administration and reporting (eligibility, rollover, and renewal)
- Assist with the annual Open Enrollment benefit plans
- Oversee Workers Compensation Audit
- Prepare commission calcs and reports
- Oversee/supervise the processing of accounts payable
- Oversee and maintain time and billing system
- Oversee and review employee expense reports for accuracy and consistency with Company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- CPA not required but a plus
- Experience using QuickBooks and Excel
- BS in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across the organization
- Extremely detail-oriented to create accurate and timely reports
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude, and a fit with the company’s culture & values
