Senior Accountant

Job Description
Aspire Staffing Group is actively looking for an Sr. Accountant. This role is very hands on, and the right candidate can play a pivotal role in accounting operations for a well-known manufacturer in Hatfield, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle Full cycle AP/AR for all vendors associated with two separate entities
- Respond to vendor inquiries; resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate all payments via weekly check run
- Possess an understanding of compliance documents such as W-9’s and issue annual 1099’s
- Record and reconcile all credit card transactions
- Run a bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Paychex online portal
- Gather information on hours worked for hourly employees
- Onboard new hires and inform employees of the details of the company’s benefit programs (health, dental, 401K)
- Maintain and update PTO calendar
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll and benefits
- Review W-2’s at year-end for accuracy
- Provide support to Controller at month-end and year-end via closing journal entries, account analyses, reconciliations, and summary worksheets.
- Assist with ad-hoc special projects requested by management.
Job Requirements
- Work experience as an accountant – 3 yrs. minimum
- B.S. in Accounting preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail a must
- proficiency in technical skills including MS Office Suite, SAGE 100 & Paychex
