Job Description

Our client provides outsourced accounting services to small to medium sized companies. Their clients include a variety of industries including nonprofits, ecommerce, manufacturing and professional services. They are looking for a senior accountant to join their team that demonstrates intellectual curiosity and aims for client satisfaction.

Position Summary:

The outsourced accountant role is responsible for managing client accounting assignments and projects. You will handle multiple clients at any one time. Duties will include assisting with compiled financial statement engagements, full scope general ledger processing including payables/receivables processing, bank reconciliations, recording bank and credit card activity, vendor inquiries, processing deposits, process payroll, recording journal entries, and management.

Your work will be closely supervised through coaching and training, and you can expect to receive hands-on guidance from manager in charge of the engagement. The Company expects you to demonstrate flexibility, have a willingness to seek out advice, and exhibit an ambition for learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with client management to provide high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
  • Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare workpapers
  • Timely record monthly transactions to reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare client financial statements in compliance with applicable standards
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating of year-end close process
  • Coordinate and assist in year in budgeting and forecasting
  • Oversee/supervise accounting staff and review workpapers for accuracy and completeness
  • Act as liaison with external auditors and leadership teams
  • Prepare ad hoc management reporting as required

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting: Minimum of three years' experience in a fast-paced accounting department; preferably with experience in Public Accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and monthly financial statement close process
  • Excellent work ethic with a positive attitude, and a fit with the company’s culture & values
  • Extremely detail-oriented to create accurate and timely financial statements
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, and to interact with others proactively to meet and/or exceed objectives within time constraints
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across the organization and with client teams
  • Strong aptitude with QuickBooks and/or other accounting software and ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes
